Judge Ginsburg Withdraws

November 12, 1987

A new off-Broadway play produced by Reagan's Really High Court Productions, folded before it opened when it was discovered that the lead character, one Douglas Ginsburg, had gone to pot. At the request of Sen. Jesse Helms (R-N.C.), the play was entitled: "Desire Under the Helms." The situation should be investigated by a "joint committee" of Congress. With Helms in the picture it could be another subsidized "Tobacco Road." When executive producer Ed Meese was asked for a comment he replied: "Just don't say no to Doug's (nomination)."
