November 13, 1987

LTV Steel Co. said it plans to sell or find a business partner for its Warren Works plant in Warren, Ohio, the largest remaining steel-industry employer in a valley that once was one of the nation's leading steel production centers. LTV also said that it was looking for a buyer for its Republic Drainage Products Co., headquartered in Canton, Ohio. LTV said it anticipates that any prospective buyer or partner would be interested in both operations, but the company is willing to sell them separately. Last year, LTV Corp., the Dallas-based parent of LTV Steel, filed for reorganization under Chapter 11 of the U.S. Bankruptcy Code.
