Local News in Brief : PIC Puts Off Ramos Case

November 13, 1987

The Los Angeles Private Industry Council board of directors met in a special closed session Thursday without deciding the fate of its embattled president, Dominick J. Ramos.

Although a performance evaluation of Ramos was listed as the first agenda item, the board spent 3 1/2 hours discussing two other personnel issues involving Vice President Arthur P. Lawson.

Ramos, 50, who earns $76,572 a year, faces allegations that he mishandled a $160,000 marketing contract, solicited political contributions from his staff and improperly used government funds to buy a car.

The board is scheduled to meet again today.
