Ling Feng, a film actor, will become the first Taiwanese entertainer to perform in the Republic of China since 1949, the official China News Service has announced. The agency said that Feng, 42--who is also a singer and a popular television host--arrived in the southern city of Canton last week. It said Ling will perform on Chinese television and produce with a Peking film company a documentary on family reunions. Taiwan this month formally allowed its citizens to travel to China, lifting a ban in effect since the Nationalist government fled to the island ahead of advancing Communist armies.
