The FBI joined police in the search for a man who robbed a branch of the Security Pacific Bank of almost $2,000 Monday.
The robbery occurred at 10:08 a.m. at the branch in the 18600 block of MacArthur Boulevard, Irvine Police Lt. Sam Allevato said. The suspect walked up to a bank teller, gave her a note demanding money and calmly walked out of the bank with the cash.
The suspect then fled in a small, gray, late-model pickup with a dark utility rack. When last seen, the truck was northbound on MacArthur, heading toward the San Diego Freeway. Bank officials said the man fled with $1,959.
The suspect was described as a white male in his 30s, with a mustache, about 5 feet, 10 inches tall and of medium build, police said. He was wearing a sport coat and slacks.
Allevato said no weapon was seen.
