The ninth-ranked UCLA men's soccer team, a 1-0 winner over Fresno State last week in a first-round NCAA playoff match, will be at Nevada Las Vegas on Sunday for the Far West Regional championship match.
The Bruins are 14-6-1. Nevada Las Vegas, a 1-0 winner over San Francisco in its playoff opener, is ranked second behind UCLA in the Far West. The Rebels are 14-5.
Peter Pelle scored the Bruins' goal against Fresno State on an assist from Bill Thompson. Last year UCLA lost in the second round of the playoffs to the Bulldogs, who halted the Bruins' 39-game unbeaten streak.
In September, UCLA defeated Nevada Las Vegas, 2-0, getting goals from Jeff Hooker and Shaun Del Grande. Steve Black assisted on both scores.
