Reagan Names Security Council Deputy Director

WASHINGTON — President Reagan has named John Negroponte, former ambassador to Honduras, as deputy director of the National Security Council staff, the White House has announced. Negroponte, 48, succeeds Army Lt. Gen. Colin L. Powell, who will be Reagan's national security adviser.
