Local News in Brief : Office Building Approved

November 26, 1987

Plans for an 11-story office building in San Pedro--which will be the largest in the community's downtown redevelopment district--have been given the go-ahead by the Los Angeles City Council.

The council on Tuesday approved a contract between the city's Community Redevelopment Agency and a group of developers who propose a 240,000-square-foot building, including 15,000 square feet of retail space, at Sixth and Palos Verdes streets. The building, to be called Pacific Place, will have an adjacent garage for 785 cars.

Construction is expected to begin early next summer and must be completed by July, 1990, when its major tenant, Logicon Inc., is scheduled to move in.
