Pincay and Our Lutka Close With a Rush to Win Hollywood Feature Race by a Head

November 26, 1987

Our Lutka, ridden by Laffit Pincay, trailed in last place most of the way but closed with a rush to win the $30,000 feature race by a head Wednesday at Hollywood Park.

Bragora, with Bill Shoemaker up, was second, a head in front of Clever Edge, with Corey Black aboard.

Our Lutka, a 4-year-old filly, covered 1 1/16 miles on the turf in 1:42 2/5.

Sent off as the second choice by the crowd of 13,734, Our Lutka paid $8.20, $4 and $3.60. Bragora returned $14 and $10, while Clever Edge paid $5.40 to show.

Our Lutka came five-wide into the stretch and finished strongly, getting the lead in the final yards. Bragora had taken the lead approaching the sixteenth marker and just failed to hold off the winner.
