Prep Notes The two eight-man championships will be decided tonight, with Rio Hondo Prep of Arcadia (10-0) playing host to Templeton (8-2) in the Large Division, and St. Margaret's of San Juan Capistrano (10-1) will meet Coast Christian of Redondo Beach (11-0) at El Camino College, in the Small Division. The Templeton-Rio Hondo game is a rematch of the season opener, won by Rio Hondo. Templeton Coach Jerry Reynolds has won two titles and finished second four times whereas Randall Johnson of Rio Hondo Prep has four championships. This is the first appearance in the title game for St. Margaret's and Coast Christian. . . . Bolsa Grande of Garden Grove, the defending champion in the Central Conference and the top-seeded team this year, has forfeited five victories and its Garden Grove League title. However, Bolsa Grande will remain in the playoffs because the violation involved district rules and not Southern Section rules. The Matadors, who had the longest winning streak in the Southern Section at 20, and are 6-5, not 11-0. Bolsa Grande turned itself in when it was discovered a non-starter had played in five games without having enough class credits to be eligible. The Matadors play Saddleback of Santa Ana (6-4-1) tonight in the quarterfinals. . . . Todd Marinovich of Capistrano Valley in Mission Viejo, who set the national career passing record two weeks ago, finished with 9,182 yards in four years, the first two at Mater Dei of Santa Ana. . . . Loyola, which has reached the Big Five quarterfinals mainly on the strength of defense, had 501 yards in total offense in its first-round victory over Westminster. The Cubs (11-0) play at Long Beach Wilson (6-4) tonight.
