The job outlook for college graduates slipped as a result of the recent stock market crash but remains good, according to a recruiting survey by Michigan State University. Employers questioned after the crash said they plan to hire 3.8% more college graduates this year, with starting salaries for graduates with a bachelor's degree averaging $22,600. Before the crash on Oct. 19, those employers planned to hire 5.5% more college graduates this year. According to the survey of 1,019 employers, the greatest increase in demand will be for graduates in hotel, restaurant and institution management and the the Southwest and Northeast regions of the country offer the best opportunities.
