Five aides of Col. Gregorio (Gringo) Honasan, who led a bloody August coup attempt against President Corazon Aquino, turned themselves in to Philippine authorities, beating a midnight deadline for the mutineers to return to the military. Concerns over security were heightened recently when 80 sticks of dynamite were found inside the center.
