ABU DHABI, United Arab Emirates — Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat said in an interview published Wednesday that there is no alternative to international peace talks on the Middle East.

"The Palestine Liberation Organization will not accept any other alternative to the international conference," he told Al Ittihad newspaper.

"The United Nations secretary general has no choice but to invite the PLO to that conference," Arafat said.
