Carson 39, El Camino Real 12--El Camino Real made a quick exit from the 4-A playoffs at Gardena High. Carson exploded for two touchdowns within a three-minute span in the first quarter. The Colts' first score came on a 25-yard pass from quarterback George Malauulu to wide receiver John Lark, who caught two scoring passes.

Malauulu, the Pacific League's most-valuable player, completed 7 of 17 passes for 184 yards and threw 2 touchdowns. He also ran for 60 yards in four carries.

El Camino Real scored on fourth-quarter passes from Carl McFadden to Paul Hasson (eight yards) and to Peter Pistone (25 yards).
