Christmas Tree

December 06, 1987

Rick Meyer's photograph of the 65-year-old evergreen being hoisted at Citicorp Plaza in downtown Los Angeles (Metro, Nov. 26) saddens me.

Killing a living thing to celebrate the birth of Jesus is as pagan as the past human sacrifices offered to please the idols.

If Jesus Christ walked by, I do not believe he would approve.
