AIA Council Makes Awards

Prof. Richard Chylinski of Cal Poly Pomona, the Los Angeles Conservancy and architect Albert C. Martin were honored during last month's annual meeting of the California Council, the American Institute of Architects, at Yosemite, for contributions to architecture and related fields.

Chylinski, founder of his school's department of architecture, was given the Excellence in Education award for his contributions to the continuation and development of architectural knowledge. The Conservancy was given the council's Historic Preservation award for success in conserving and revitalizing the urban environment.

Los Angeles architect Martin, a fellow of the AIA, was given the Excellence in Public Service award for his dedication to the City of Los Angeles.
