International Business Machines reported that Santa, Clara, Calif.-based Rolm Corp., a wholly owned IBM subsidiary, will become the Rolm Systems division, effective Dec. 31 . . . Citing current market conditions, First Pacific Holdings Ltd., the Hong Kong-based parent of the Hibernia Bank, San Francisco, has discontinued its search for new investors for Hibernia. . . . Dallas-based American Airlines said it flew 4.36 billion revenue passenger miles in November, a 14.6% increase over the same year earlier period . . . The Federal Reserve said the average yield for one-year T-bills, the most popular index for making changes in adjustable-rate home mortgages, was 7.02% last week, unchanged from the previous week . . . British Petroleum Co. PLC said it is seeking a 29.9% stake in Britoil, a petroleum firm that has extensive interests in North Sea oil fields, after making a sweep to accumulate 14.9% of Britoil's shares.
