American Telephone & Telegraph Co., pulling a switch on the Asian electronics industry, said small phone systems that it makes in Louisiana will be sold in Hong Kong and Taiwan. AT&T was legally restricted to the U.S. market for most of its history but is now trying to expand its international business. The Spirit phone systems, which typically serve two or three phone lines, are made in Shreveport, La. AT&T said it expects to sell 10,000 systems during the next two years through Communication Services Ltd., based in Hong Kong, and EOS Systems Corp., based in Taiwan.
