Ups: A Mailing Alternative

December 11, 1987

Packages can also be sent through the United Parcel Service. UPS has only one Orange County drop-off point in Anaheim but 25 Orange County Mail Box Etc USA franchises will also accept UPS and U.S. Postal Service shipments for an added service charge.

If you don't want to drive to a UPS outlet and stand in line, UPS drivers will pick up any size package at your residence or business for $3.25. You must call (714) 491-7000 to make a reservation the day before you want to send the package.

During the Christmas rush, UPS has set up a shipping station in a red-and-white circus tent at the Anaheim Stadium parking lot.

The number of days required for the parcel to reach its destination by ground service (UPS also has next-day air and second-day air) is calculated by zip code, not by zone.

For example, packages going to the the far ends of Maine and Florida would take six working days; to most of the East Coast, Illinois or Montana, five working days; to Denver, three to four days; to Seattle, three days, and to Salt Lake City or San Francisco, two days.
