December 12, 1987

Sean Cheatham of Rancho Alamitos High School and Damon Fisher of Bolsa Grande were named co-most valuable players of the Garden Grove League in a vote of the league's football coaches.

Cheatham was the county's leading rusher with 1,904 yards, and he scored 174 points in 10 games. Fisher rushed for 972 yards, scored 16 touchdowns and intercepted 7 passes.

Mark Miller of Rancho Alamitos and Greg Shadid of Bolsa Grande were named co-coaches of the year. Miller helped improve the Vaqueros' program from 1-9 last year to 6-4 this season.
