Randy Robinson scored 26 points, and Chris Ortiz added 18 Saturday as the Kearny High School boys' basketball team defeated La Jolla, 73-57, in the final of the Hilltop Tournament at Hilltop High.
Ortiz, the tournament's most valuable player, scored 13 of his points in the first half as Kearny took a 37-35 lead. In the third quarter, 6-foot 5-inch center John Williamson scored 9 of his 13 points as Kearny outscored La Jolla, 18-11, for a 55-46 lead.
Sean Rogers scored 15 points for La Jolla, and Adam Kleid added 11.

Point Loma 64, Sweetwater 54--In the third-place game, Jimmy Griffin scored 8 of his 18 points in the fourth quarter as Point Loma pulled away from a 49-46 third-quarter lead. Point Loma's Jeff Johnson scored 23 points. Kiki Machiote scored all eight of Sweetwater's fourth-quarter points.
Mira Mesa 77, Hoover 55--David Lee scored 22 points, and Tal Miller added 19 as Mira Mesa won the fifth-place game. Stacy Domaille scored 15 for Hoover.
