SACRAMENTO — The next Lotto 6/49 jackpot should be in excess of $23 million, California Lottery spokesman John Schade said Sunday.
There were no grand prize winners in the game that ended with the drawing of numbers Saturday night, so that $17.6-million jackpot was rolled over into the pool for the game ending Wednesday. Figuring the hefty jackpot would increase ticket sales, Schade said the eventual prize could be more than $23 million.
Eight people came tantalizingly close to striking it rich, getting five numbers correct plus the bonus number. They each won $192,760. Also, 239 people won $3,324 apiece for getting five numbers, and 13,387 others won $53 apiece for four numbers.
