Lazers Suspend Usiyan, Reportedly for Fighting

December 15, 1987

The Lazers have suspended forward Thompson Usiyan for 10 days, according to Jim Buss, team president.

Reason for the suspension was not announced, but a source close to the team said it was because Usiyan had fought with a teammate after the Lazers' 7-3 loss to the Chicago Sting Saturday at the Forum.

Usiyan will miss the team's next two road games against the Cleveland Force and Baltimore Blast.
