Kenya began moving thousands of Ugandan refugees away from the border as fighting between Ugandan soldiers and Kenyan forces spread along the two nations' frontier. A Kenyan official in Busia, the border town where fighting broke out Monday, said he feared that Uganda would try to raid the refugee camps, set up in September after battles between Ugandan government forces and guerrillas near the border. Authorities said that about 2,000 refugees will be moved. The outbreak of fighting follows a year of deteriorating relations and a strong protest last week by Kenya over alleged Ugandan military incursions.
