Tommy Aland made a layup at the buzzer to give Grossmont High School a 61-60 Grossmont League victory at home over Granite Hills Tuesday.
Mike Locke had put Granite Hills ahead with a layup with six seconds left, but Jason Foggiano dribbled the length of the court and threw a bounce pass to Aland, who was alone under the basket for the game-winner.
Granite Hills slowed Foggiano and Lance Williams, who were averaging 23 points each coming into the game. Williams scored 10 points and Foggiano had 9.
But Aland and Kevin McIntyre responded with career-high point totals for Grossmont (5-1 overall and 2-1 in league). Aland had 18 points and McIntyre 16.

Valhalla 64, El Capitan 45--Jeff Collins scored 11 of his 13 points in the second half to lead Valhalla (3-0 in league) at home. Valhalla outscored El Capitan, 24-11, in the fourth quarter. Collins, who also had 10 rebounds, picked up three fouls in the game's first three minutes. Jason Berkshire had a game-high 19 points for El Capitan (0-3).
Santana 105, El Cajon Valley 53--Tim Berry scored 22 points and Oystein Back had 21 to lead visiting Santana. Santana (6-0, 3-0) led, 22-15, at the end of the first quarter, but outscored El Cajon Valley, 35-14, in the second quarter. Joe Church added 18 points for Santana. Kevin Davis led El Cajon Valley (0-3) with 17 points.
Torrey Pines 73, Crawford 43--Seven-foot Neil Pollard scored 20 points and Courtney Miller had 19 for Torrey Pines at home. Crawford's Lamont Grove scored eight points, including two three-pointers, to bring Crawford within eight points three minutes into the second half. Torrey Pines (7-0) used a box-and-one defense against Grove in the fourth quarter and outscored Crawford, 19-2. Grove finished with 17 points.
Kearny 62, Serra 50--Chris Ortiz scored 20 points and Randy Robinson added 18 as Kearny (7-0) won at home. Ortiz scored 14 points in the second half.
Poway 92, University 58--John Colberston made 9 of 11 shots for 18 points and Ty Nichols added 14 for host Poway (3-0).
Patrick Henry 50, La Jolla 42--Terrence Hamilton led visiting Patrick Henry (2-0) with 21 points.
