Hourly workers at Ford Motor should receive profit-sharing checks averaging at least $3,500, while their counterparts at General Motors will probably get nothing for the second consecutive year, industry sources said. Ford's profit-sharing checks averaged $2,400 in 1986. The company has done well since then, overtaking No. 1 car maker GM in profits.
