We have been watching the new "Star Trek" series with great interest. Unlike some viewers who already have commented, we enjoy the show very much with its varied cast of characters including at least one alien as well as the Klingon. Although the new characters are not replicas of the old, the atmosphere and emphasis on strength in diversity in the show overall is being used to an admirable degree in the new version. We frankly prefer this completely new cast to a reworking of the old, which would inevitably call forth criticism based on differences between the memorable creation of the first actors and what may develop with the new cast.
