LONDON — Sweet-toothed Britons devoured a record $1.67-billion worth of sweets last year, a survey published on Sunday said. The study by the commercial survey organization Mintel showed that Britons ate 283,000 tons of sugar confectionery, averaging 10 pounds per person.
