More Seats to Be Available for Holiday Bowl

December 22, 1987

An additional 1,400 seats will be available for the previously sold-out Holiday Bowl game between Wyoming and Iowa Dec. 30 at San Diego Jack Murphy Stadium. The seats become available because of the early completion of temporary seating being installed for Super Bowl XXII.

After waiting-list orders have been filled, the remaining tickets will go on sale Dec. 23 at 8 a.m. at Gate A at the stadium. The field-level bleacher seats are located in the curve of the west end zone and will be sold on a general admission basis for $15. Telephone orders will not be accepted.

MEN'S BASKETBALL

Jim Pelton, University of San Diego center, has been named the West Coast Athletic Conference basketball player of the week. Pelton, a 6-foot 9-inch senior, scored a career-high 20 points in USD's 76-53 victory over San Diego State. Pelton, from Palos Verdes, was 5 of 8 from the field and 10 of 11 from the free throw line. He is the first USD player to receive the conference honor this season.
