HIGH SCHOOL BASKETBALL : Plummer Pilots Beverly Hills Past Crespi, 66-57

Chris Plummer, a 5-10 guard, scored a game-high 24 points to lead Beverly Hills past Crespi, 66-57, Tuesday in a nonleague game at Beverly Hills High.

Mike Tilkian scored 16 points and Crespi teammate Bill Foudy added 15.

Derek Patton and Monroe Gorden each scored 12 points for the Normans.


Palmdale 54, St. Genevieve 53--Mike Walker scored 15 of his 19 points in the first half, but 11-of-20 free-throw shooting cost St. Genevieve after the Valiants led most of the game.

Shannon Culver led Palmdale with 14 points.

Buena 76, Royal 72--Royal trailed by as many as 10 points, but tied the score, 72-72, late in the fourth quarter. Sean Kirkeby, who had 20 points, scored the game-winner. Jeff Oliver also had 20 points for Buena.

Tony Strickland scored 10 points in the second half to lead the Highlanders' comeback and finished with 14 points and 13 rebounds. Russell Myers contributed nine second-half points, and Chris Noyes and Chris Myers added several three-pointers for Royal.

Oak Park 56, Montclair Prep 55--John Sloan scored 13 second-half points, including the game-winning basket with nine seconds left. The senior forward finished with a team-high 21 points.

Richard Chavez added 12 points for the Eagles.

Craig Handschu led Montclair Prep with 28 points.

Thousand Oaks 71, Agoura 55--Kevin Martin scored 23 points to lead Thousand Oaks to its first victory in five games this season. Jeff Peterson added 15 points for the Lancers and Mike Shoemaker had 11.

Shambi Huddleston scored 15 points and grabbed 12 rebounds for Agoura, and Frank Jacobellis added 18 points.

Holy Martyrs 87, Pilibos 57--Armen Abrahamian scored 21 points and grabbed 13 rebounds to lead the Armens in a nonleague game.

Five Holy Martyrs players scored in double figures, including Viken Tchorbajian (16 points) and Hovig Khukaz (18) who made six three-pointers.
