The Miami Heat, one of the National Basketball Assn.'s proposed franchises, reached the 10,000 mark in season-ticket sales, satisfying a key league stipulation for final approval.

"This really guarantees NBA basketball for South Florida," managing partner Lewis Schaffel said.

A check for 200 season tickets from the Latin Builders Assn. put the Heat over 10,000.
