Man Shoots 6, Kills 2 in Ark.

RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. — A man armed with two revolvers shot at least six people at four locations this morning, killing two before officers captured him, police said.

The first shooting occurred about 10:15 a.m. at a law office, where a secretary was wounded. The gunman was captured about 45 minutes later at a trucking company, where one or two people were wounded. Police identified the suspect as R. Gene Simmons Sr., in his late 40s, of Dover. According to police, a man was killed at Taylor Oil Co. and a woman was killed at a location not yet disclosed. No motive was immediately known, police said.
