Richard Gaylord, outgoing president of the Long Beach District Board of Realtors, has been elected chairman of the board's political action committee for 1988. Other committee officers are Bob Johnson, vice chairman, and Barbara Shoag, secretary-treasurer. Members include Ted Tichy, Betty Suttie, Gene Hoffman, Terry Mulholland, Maurice Anderson, Barbara Moss, Betty Bennett, Ed Deal and Jack Warshauer. One of the committee's purposes is to financially support local candidates for election to city, county and state political offices. Gaylord also is a former chairman of the Long Beach Planning Commission.
College Crowns Mr. Tartar
Darnell Hope, a 26-year-old business major at Compton Community College, was crowned Mr. Tartar at the college homecoming dance. Hope is a part-time dockworker, former president of the Extended Opportunity Program and Services Student Assn., a member of Phi Beta Lambda business fraternity and a former vice president of the campus chapter of the Society for the Advancement of Management.
Teacher of Medical Aides
Pat Regan, director of the medical assistant training program at Cerritos College, received proclamations of honor from the cities of Norwalk and Cerritos in observance of the recent National Medical Assistance Week. Regan graduated from Cerritos College and earned advanced degrees from the Omaha School of Vocational Nursing and in vocational education at California State University, Long Beach. She worked in a medical office before going into teaching at Cerritos College in 1969.
