All-American running back Russell White, Crespi, ranked No. 1 in the nation by National Prep Poll and No. 2 by USA Today, struggled to a tie in the nonleague game at the University of Redlands. White was held to a career low of 23 yards and a 13-yard touchdown on 8 carries before leaving the game midway through the second quarter with a hip pointer. Crespi had an opportunity to win the game late in the fourth quarter. With 1:30 remaining, Rob O'Byrne completed a 30-yard pass to Eric Keeling on the Redlands 18. Fullback J.J. Laskey gained six yards to the 12, and O'Byrne scrambled for an 11-yard gain to set up a first-and-goal situation on the one. O'Byrne was stopped on two straight quarterback sneaks. On a third try, he hit the ground at the goal line and fumbled. Redlands recovered with just eight seconds remaining. Crespi had taken a 17-14 lead with 2:38 left in the third quarter on a 29-yard field goal by Bill Gould. Redlands than tied the score at 17-17 on Juaquin Solis's 36-yard field goal with 6:41 remaining in the game. Both of Redlands' touchdowns were scored by running back Larry Cabral on one-yard runs. and Servite 14, Colton 14--Junior Derek Brown, who had been held to
minus-two yards in six carries through the first three quarters gained 70 yards in the final 11 minutes, including a 33-yard run with 9:14 remaining, to enable Servite to earn a 14-14 in the nonleague game at Colton. Quarterback Jason Frank gave the Friars their first touchdown of the game on a 15-yard pass to Jason Rees. Colton took a 14-7 lead early in the fourth quarter on junior Johnny Atlas' 34-yard touchdown run. Earlier, Atlas had scored on a 75-yard run, only to have the play nullified on a late hit by Rich Gomez. Arroyo 20, Temple City 0--Willie Reyna threw two touchdown passes to Paco Chavez to lead the Knights to the win at Arroyo. Reyna's first touchdown pass, a 29-yarder to Chavez in the first quarter, gave Arroyo a 7-0 lead. Mike Ayon's three-yard run gave the Knights a 14-0 lead late in the first quarter. Chavez added a third touchdown on a 37-yard pass play from Reyna. Reyna finished with 7 completions in 11 attempts for 143 yards. Chavez caught four passes for 116 yards. Temple City managed only 119 total yards, including 25 passing, while Arroyo had 316 total yards. Arroyo is the defending Southeastern Conference champion. Temple City was the runner-up in the Northwestern Conference last year. and Bishop Amat 35, Rubidoux 7--Adam Rogers returned the opening kickoff

first game at quarterback since his sophomore year, completed 16 of 22 passes for 262 yards and 2 touchdowns and added 2 TDs rushing to lead Hart to the nonleague win at College of the Canyons. Renfro's main target was senior running back Craig Whitten, who caught 5 passes for 129 yards, including touchdowns of 38 and 80 yards. Whitten also ran for a six-yard score and finished with 87 yards rushing in 21 carries. and Los Altos 3, La Serna 0--Brady Berg's 25-yard field goal early in the
second quarter was the difference as the defending Eastern Conference champion Conquerors defeated the Lancers in a nonleague game at California High School. Robert Watkins rushed for 105 yards in 25 carries for La Serna.

touchdown each in the fourth quarter to lead the Trojans to a 20-12 come-from-behind victory in Irvine Stadium. and Roberson put the Trojans ahead, 14-12, with a 15-yard touchdown run

Another linebacker, Kris Pallone, intercepted a quick timing pass and ran 71 yards for a score with 15 seconds remaining in the half as the Warriors took a 24-0 halftime lead.
