BRIEFLY

January 07, 1988

Computer chip maker International Rectifier said that it will lay off 90 administrative employees as part of an effort to streamline operations and reduce costs. The El Segundo-based company, which employs 1,400 people nationwide, said the move will save $4 million annually. The firm, which previously reported a loss of $16.9 million for fiscal 1987, also said it expected to return to profitability in June.
