South Korea's president-elect, Roh Tae Woo, proposed that opposition party members join his Cabinet in what appeared to be a peace gesture. "I will ask the opposition to recommend competent figures to become Cabinet members in the new government," Roh said after moving from his Democratic Justice Party office into a new residence, where he will stay until his inauguration Feb. 25. There was no immediate reaction from opposition leaders Kim Young Sam and Kim Dae Jung, who were defeated last month in the country's first direct presidential election in 16 years.
