High School Students Get Wrong Material on AIDS

January 26, 1988|Associated Press

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — A public health official has apologized for a mix-up in which high school students received sexually explicit brochures on AIDS. The material was intended to be given out in bars frequented by homosexuals.

Art Brooks, director of AIDS Project-Springfield, said that an inexperienced volunteer was responsible for distributing the pamphlets to students in West Plains last week.
