An explosion and fire trapped 138 men in a northern Mexico coal mine. Authorities said 10 were killed, 109 were rescued and 19 were still trapped. A statement from the Coahuila state fire department said the explosion occurred about 1 1/2 hours after the morning shift took over. Fire Brigade Lt. Martin Flores, from the city of Monclova, about 70 miles away, said 15 of the rescued workers were injured. The mine, near the town of Esperanzas in Coahuila state, belongs to the Hulera Mexicana firm.
