Coach Ron Lapointe and defenseman Terry Carkner of the Quebec Nordiques were suspended for 5 and 10 games, respectively, for leaving the bench during an altercation with the Montreal Canadians Sunday. Lapointe was also fined $1,000, and his team was fined $10,000. The suspensions took effect immediately.
