Italian tycoon Carlo De Benedetti said he would forge corporate alliances with foreign companies if the Belgian firm seeks to dilute his stake in Societe Generale de Belgique. De Benedetti, striving to become the firm's lead shareholder, said: "We've said from the beginning we were ready to make an alliance with the Belgians, and in the next few days we'll announce alliances with non-Belgians as well." SGB, Belgium's biggest company, recently approved a 43% increase in its capital to dilute De Benedetti's 18.6% stake.
