Ricky Berry scored 29 points and set a school career scoring record for San Jose (9-8, 5-4). He has 1,519 career points, eclipsing Stu Inman, who scored 1,503 in 1947-50.
Utah State made 11 of 14 from three-point range, including 8 of 10 in the first half. The 11 three-pointers set a school record.
