February 02, 1988|Associated Press

PASSAIC, N. J. — Officials worked Monday to find housing for about 100 families left homeless by a fire that gutted a five-story complex, officials said. There were no injuries, but residents of 110 apartments were evacuated Sunday. Families were staying temporarily in a high school gymnasium and may have to remain there for two or three days, officials said.
