February 02, 1988

The Lazers, coming off a 6-3 loss to the Baltimore Blast last Friday night, play the third game of a four-game trip against the San Diego Sockers tonight at 7:30 at the San Diego Sports Arena.

With their loss to Baltimore, the Lazers (12-13) fell to fourth place in the Western Division of the Major Indoor Soccer League, eight games behind the Sockers.

The Lazers are 1-1 on this trip and 8-5 overall on the road. The Sockers (21-6) have won eight straight games, two of which were lopsided victories against the Lazers.

Defensively, the Sockers are the best in the league, having allowed just 81 goals. No other club has allowed fewer than 105. Offensively, they are second only to the Minnesota Strikers with 136 goals.

The Lazers, who were just one game out of first a month ago, have allowed 133 goals while scoring 112.
