Right-hander Dan Petry, 29, signed to play with the Angels in 1988 for an undisclosed amount, the American League club announced Monday.
Petry, acquired from Detroit in exchange for outfielder Gary Pettis last Dec. 5, had a 9-7 record and 5.61 earned-run average for the Tigers last year in 30 outings, 9 in relief.
Catcher Jack Fimple and pitchers Shane Young and Vance Lovelace also agreed to undisclosed terms for the 1988 season, said General Manager Mike Port.
Young, 26, was acquired from the New York Mets as part of the John Candelaria trade. He started in 27 games last season for Jackson in the Texas League, posting a 9-10 record.
Lovelace, 24, was originally with the Dodgers. The left-hander had a 3-3 record with four saves and a 3.23 ERA for Midland, Tex., in 1987.
Fimple, 28, batted .200 in 13 Angel games last season, after hitting .292 in 71 games in the Triple-A Edmonton club.
