After a Hike, Try Popcorn : But Make It Zesty, Mexican-Style

Celebrate fun-time activities such as hiking, camping, bike trips, basketball games and leaf-pile jumping with a post-activity snack such as popcorn.

SOUTH-OF-THE-BORDER POPCORN

1/4 cup melted butter or margarine

1/2 cup shredded Colby cheese

1/2 cup shredded Jack cheese

1 teaspoon taco seasoning mix

2 quarts popped corn

Melt butter in small saucepan. Add cheeses and stir until smooth. Stir in taco seasoning mix. Pour over popcorn and toss to coat. Makes 2 quarts.

MAPLE-WALNUT POPCORN

1/4 cup thick maple syrup

2 quarts popped corn

1/2 cup walnut halves or large pieces

Pour maple syrup over popped corn and stir to blend. Add walnuts and mix. Makes 2 quarts.
