POP EYE

February 07, 1988|PATRICK GOLDSTEIN

MOVING RIGHT ALONG: Last Sunday, Pop Eye printed numerous comments from entertainment figures blasting Rick Dees' attack on drug users and the homeless. So it only seems fair to make room for one of Dees' industry supporters--KDOC-TV Channel 56's outspoken talk-show host Wally George. Saying Dees was "110% on target and has more guts than I ever thought he had," George added: "I've been saying the same thing for years--Rick was probably taking notes. The majority of the homeless aren't deprived. They're lazy loafers and degenerates who don't want to work. I'd like to see these liberals put their money where their mouth is and bring the homeless in and feed them in their mansions. Until then, they should shut up. I'm tired of stumbling over drunks and derelicts in Santa Monica Park. They've taken over the beaches and Rick is right--it's about time we got rid of all of them."
