Bravo to Cousins for his stimulating and very valid suggestions that would help greatly in meeting the emotional and physical needs that will confront most of us at one time or another in our lives. Changes that would never occur to most of us. But . . . changes that could save many, many lives.
Having helped two friends with heart disease and one with cancer this past year, I have personally seen tremendous courage, optimism and--yes--as Cousins says, "Confidence in one's self and one's physician" does indeed help heal the all too human heart and soul of man.
