A radio station in South Lake Tahoe has begun a fund-raising drive to help nurse an American bald eagle found injured in the snow. Station KOWL reported pledges of more than $200 in the first 90 minutes after it went on the air with the eagle's story, and the station expects to continue the drive this week with a contest to name the bird. The eagle, which requires $10 in food a day, was found dragging its bloodied wings through the snow near Donner Lake and was rescued by a family of cross-country skiers.
