February 11, 1988

Amdahl Corp. and Sun Microsystems Inc. said they will jointly develop a system to link Sun's technical workstations and Amdahl's mainframe computers. The agreement was seen as an opportunity for both Silicon Valley companies to expand into market territories dominated by rival IBM.
