Girlfriend Squeezes 'Cheap' Python Out

February 11, 1988|From Reuters

MAREHAY, England — When Paul Murfin was forced to choose between his 13-foot pet python and his girlfriend, the woman won. But it was a close call.

Murfin's girlfriend had said she would not marry him if it meant living with the 112-pound reptile, which suffocates its victims.

Murfin, 24, agreed to give up the python, but with regret.

"I'll be sorry to see the snake go," he said. "He's cheap to keep."
